Walter Allen Saline was born July 31, 1922 to Isadore Henry and June Mary Roose Saline. He died Feb. 17, 1948 and is buried in Osage Cemetery, Osage, IA.

Walter served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot in the European theater. He was awarded the Air Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross and three Oak Leaf Clusters.
