Maurice Jerome Kleckner was born Feb. 2, 1920 to Ernest Joseph and Florence Ethel Fox Kleckner. He died Sept. 30, 2006 and is buried in Saint Ansgar Cemetery, Saint Ansgar, IA.

Chief Petty Officer served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Helena (CL-50) when it was torpedoed in the attack on Pearl Harbor. He stayed with the Helena until it was sunk during the Battle of Kula Gulf in the South Pacific.
