Glenn T. Meredith was born Mar. 24, 1927 to Jess H. and Katie Ross Meredith. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Meredith served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the ammunition ship, SS Lewis L. Dych, when it was attacked by an enemy plane while anchored in Mindoro Harbor, Philippine Islands. A bomb was dropped on the ship by the enemy plane and the resulting explosion caused the ship to disintegrate completely and sink immediately, without a trace. He was MIA/FOD in the service of his country.
