Floyd Monroe Craven was born May 7, 1919 to Joseph Monroe and Stella Rose Beem Craven. He died Jan. 11, 1945 and is buried in New Albany National Cemetery, New Albany, Indiana.

Ensign Craven served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Force and was MIA/KIA when his plane crashed as the result of enemy action on Leyte, Philippine Islands. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal and Purple Heart.
