Henry Lee Thompson was born Oct. 18, 1903 to Charles Bowen and Zippa Ella Chappell Thompson. He died Oct. 14, 1942 and is buried in Chariton Cemetery, Chariton, IA.
Chief Petty Officer Thompson served in World War II with the U.S. Navy 6th Naval Construction Battalion and died of injuries received as the result of enemy action while in the performance of his duties and in the service of his country.
