Delmer D. Wehde was born July 7, 1919 to David and Amanda Regennitter Wehde. He died July 20, 1943 and is buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Hiawatha, IA. Pvt. Wehde served in World War II with the U.S. Army 14th Armored Regiment, 9th Armored Division.

John William Weir was born Nov. 30, 1915 to John and Lillian M. Hutson Weir. He died Sept. 8, 1944 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.

Pvt. Weir served in World War II with the U.S. Army 33rd Engineer Battalion, 7th Armored Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

John J. Wellner was born Oct. 21, 1909 to John and Clara Kolbeck Wellner. He died June 16, 1944 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia and has a cenotaph in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Sgt. Wellner served in World War II with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and died in a hospital in Iran from a concussion which was accidentally incurred when the truck in which he was riding struck a rock and overturned.

Kenneth R. Werning was born July 5, 1924 to Fred A. and Anna Henriette Steuber Werning. He died Mar. 24, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands and has a cenotaph in Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Newhall, IA.

Sgt. Werning served in World War II with the U.S. Army 194th Infantry Regiment, 17th Airborne Division and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Purple Heart.
