Lawrence Ruben Caldwell was born Sept. 9, 1915 to Earl A. and Delight Hughes Caldwell. He died Aug. 8, 1948 and is buried in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.

James Albert Callahan was born Aug. 4, 1923 to Charles Joseph and Geraldine Monahan Callahan. He died Feb. 28, 1942 (at sea in the Atlantic area) and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, Manhattan, NY.

James served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Jacob Jones (DD-130), which was sunk by torpedoes fired by the German submarine U-578. He was awarded the Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal with Star, and the Navy Good Conduct Medal.

Joseph Thomas Callan was born Feb. 24, 1918 to Joseph N. and Azella J. Mahoney Callen. He died Oct. 27, 1949 and is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, IA.

2nd Lt. Callan served in World War II with the U.S. Army 691st Tank Destroyer Battalion, 76th Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart.
