Max Vestal Peters was born July 28, 1919 to William Leonard and Mary Caroline Vestal Peters. He died Jan. 10, 1942 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 1, Honolulu, Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA.

Petty Officer Peters served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saratoga (CV-3) with Torpedo Squadron #3 and was KIA in the service of his country.

John F. Peterson was born Sept. 23, 1924 to Ross A. and Frances Lawrence Peterson. He died June 14, 1944 and is buried in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Keokuk, IA. He was initially buried in the 4th Marine Division Cemetery on Saipan and returned to the U.S. in 1948.

Pvt. Peterson served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division and was KIA in combat operations on Eniwetok, Marshall Islands.
