Kenneth Ross Rayner was born Nov. 26, 1926 to Ross Frank and Theodora Louella Peet Rayner. He died Apr. 16, 2018 and is buried in Lone Tree Cemetery, Lone Tree, IA.

Dr. Rayner served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Milton Herman Reckling was born May 31, 1927 to Herman A. and Martha Moser Reckling. He died June 26, 2012 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Everett Keith Rogers was born Mar. 9, 1923 to Lloyd Thomas and Ruth Kolstead Rogers. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Rogers served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Princeton (CVL-23) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that ship was hit by a Japanese bomb while operating off the Philippines. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Edward Jilberto Rohner was born Oct. 14, 1921 to Frank James and Filomena E. Rohner. He died Mar. 28, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY.

Ensign Rohner served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died while in the service of his country at Chesapeake Bay, Virginia.

Hoyt Allen Ross was born Mar. 12, 1913 to Charles William and Leanore Victoria Ross Allen. He died Dec. 19, 1943 and is buried in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.

Major Ross served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Ivan Lyle Roth was born Sept. 10, 1921 to Daniel B. “Dan” and Elsie May Birky Roth. He died May 10, 1947 and is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa City, IA. Ivan served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

James Joseph Russell, Jr. was born Nov. 1, 1924 to James Joseph (Sr.) and Evelyn Russell. He died July 25, 1944 and is buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery Old, Iowa City, IA. He was initially buried in USAF Cemetery Guam #1 Asan and returned to the U.S. in 1948.

Pvt. Russell served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps HQ Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division and was wounded in action on Guam and evacuated to USS Crescent City (APA-21) where he died of his wounds.

William John Russell was born Oct. 31, 1915 to William P. and Irene Margaret Thomson Russell. He died Feb. 21, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Pvt. Russell served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Marines, 5th Marine Division and was KIA in the amphibious assault on the southeast coast of Iwo Jima while in the service of his country.
