Noal Bernard Fisher was born Dec. 13 1923 to Ralph Vernon and Bertha Ann Stump Fisher. He died Sept. 22, 1943 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA.
Petty Officer Fisher served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Savannah (CL-42) and was severely burned when his ship was bombed during the Salerno landing. He was taken off his ship and sent to the U.S. Army 80th station hospital were he died from his burns and was initially buried in the 2nd Corps cemetery at Bizerta, Tunisia, in North Africa.
