Harold Chris Hasselbrink was born Dec. 18, 1913 to Carl William and Verna Swigart Hasselbrink. He died Mar. 1, 1942 and has a cenotaph in Newton Union Cemetery, Newton, IA. 

Petty Officer Hasselbrink served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Langley (CV-1/AV-3) and was Lost At Sea when that vessel was bombed by enemy planes and sank in the open sea south of Java.
