Mervaille William Rinehart was born Apr. 15, 1922 to Clarence William and Merle Frances Shedenhelm Rinehart. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.
Petty Officer Rinehart served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ommaney Bay (CVE-79) was sunk in a kamikaze attack on the Sulu Sea. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
