Carl Nicolaus Hans Thomsen was born July 21, 1918 to Hans and Anna Caroline Glawe Thomsen. He died Sept 7, 1998 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Pvt. Thomsen served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Harold Hugo Thomsen was born July 13, 1924 to Harry C. and Olga Anna Schueltt Thomsen. He died Feb. 27, 1945 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Cpl. Thomsen served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Battalion, 27th Marines, 5th Marine Division and was KIA on Iwo Jima Island.

Wilbert Fred Thomsen was born Oct. 4, 1923 to Hans and Anna Caroline Glawe Thomsen. He died Jan. 25, 2000.

Wilbert served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Donald Wayne Tunberg was born Sept 16, 1922 to Henry W. and Julia Johnson Tunberg. He died July 16, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Hayes Township Cemetery, Ida County, IA. He is also memorialized at the Cabanatuan Memorial, Luzon, Philippines which marks the site of the Japanese Cabanatuan POW Camp where approximately 75,000 American and Philippine servicemen and civilians were held captive from 1942-1945 during World War II.

Pvt. Tunberg served in World War II with the U.S. Army 60th Coast Artillery Regiment and became a POW of the Japanese.
