John George “Bud” Ehler was born Feb. 22, 1922 to John A. and Lillian G. Johannsen Ehler. He died Mar. 14, 2013 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

John served in World War II with the U.S. Army 53rd Medical Battalion in Normandy, France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. In addition to other medals and awards, one of his proudest moments was a salute from Gen. John C. H. Lee for building a casualty-carrier attachment out of salvage material which led to saving additional lives.

Lawrence Emmett “Larry” Ehler was born July 6, 1926 to Emil Friedrich and Selma Viola Goettsch Ehler. He died Feb. 8, 1986 and is buried in Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, Mesa, AZ.

Pvt. Ehler served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Leon J. Ehler was born Aug. 12, 1921 to Emil Friedrich and Selma Viola Goettsch Ehler. He died Aug. 23, 2011 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Fred Calvin Ellerbusch was born Oct. 7, 1923 to Paul J. and Della Henrietta Stoltenberg Ellerbusch. He died May 6, 2008 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Fred served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps in a special WWII-era accelerated engineering program. He graduated ASTP Basic Phase, Air Corps Radio School, Air Corps Electronics School and Radar School. Radar was very new, very secretive work. He was stationed in England and France, with stopovers in Scotland and Trinidad.

Lester Vernon Ellerbusch was born Dec. 20, 1924 to Paul John and Della Henrietta Stoltenberg Ellerbusch. He died Feb. 11, 2015 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Lester served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Soubarissen (AO-93).

Harry Carl Endrulat was born July 3, 1926 to William John and Hulda Kistenmacher Endrulat. He died Aug. 31, 2016 and is buried in Holstein Cemetery, Holstein, IA.

Harry served in World War II with the U.S. Army in the Army of Occupation in Japan.

Virgil Vilmont Ericksen was born Oct. 25, 1913 to Albert Alfred and Carrie Jeanette Johnson Ericksen. He died Aug. 30, 1972 and is buried in North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge, IA.

Virgil served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Donald Wayne Etler was born June 9, 1923 to Bert Frederick and Elsie Jane Henderson Etler. He died July 22, 1944 and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Battle Creek, IA.

Pvt. Etler served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Marine Division and died of wounds received in action in the invasion of Guam.
