James Benjamin Kvidera was born Oct. 11, 1921 to James Benjamin and Helen Ann Kunch Kvidera. He died Apr. 25, 1970 and is buried in Saint Pauls Catholic Cemetery, Traer, Iowa.
James served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS Colusa (APA-74), which carried fighting men to Guam, Australia, Japan and the Pacific theatre. He was awarded the American and Asiatic-Pacific medals.
