Robert Warren Mathews was born Aug. 14, 1920 to Milo W. and Freda Eunice Roth Mathews. He died Feb. 23, 1945 and i buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sgt. Mathews served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 28th Marine Regiment, 5th Division and died of wounds received in action in the Pacific area in the performance of his duty and service of his country.

Edward Eugene Mathieu was born Nov. 20, 1922 to Robert and Adeline Mayzet Mathieu. He died Mar. 13, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Pvt. Mathieu served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 27th Marines, 5th Marine Division and was KIA in the service of his country.

Henry John Mertens was born Feb. 28, 1915 to Edward and Mary Denning Mertens. He died Feb. 21, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 1, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Coxswain Mertens served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Bismarck Sea (CVE-95) which was sunk by two Japanese kamikazes with the loss of 318 men and was the last U.S. Navy aircraft carrier to be lost during World War II. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Freddie Christopher Messer was born Apr. 20, 1922 to Christopher and Violet V. McMillan Messer. He died Jan. 6, 1945, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Messer served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Louisville (CA-28) and was KIA when that vessel was hit in a kamikaze attack. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Don Edwin Millspaugh was born July 18, 1913 to Charles Wesley and Gladys Mabel Johnson Millspaugh. He died Jan. 13, 1942 and is buried in Oakland Mills Cemetery, Oakland Mills, IA.

Pvt. Millspaugh served in World War II with the U.S. Army Co. F, 116th Engineer Combat Battalion, 41st Infantry Division and died at Station Hospital, Fort Stevens, OR while in the service of his country.

Carl William Moehle was born Nov. 17, 1925 to Carl H. and Gladys D. Smith Moehle. He died May 10, 1945 and is buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, IA.

Pvt. Moehle served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Marines, 7th Division and was KIA on Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands in the performance of his duty and service of his country.
