Paul Joseph Weis was born Feb. 23, 1926 to Paul P. and Marie J. Weis. He died May 13, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in the 1st Marine Division Cemetery on Okinawa and returned to the U.S. in 1949.

Pvt. Weis served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division and was KIA in combat operations on Okinawa.

Richard Donald Welchert was born June 1, 1921 to Gerhard Henry and Anna L. Welchert. He died July 12, 1943 and is buried in Saint Boniface Cemetery, New Vienna, IA.

Petty Officer Welchert served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Frederick L. Wiedmer was born Sept. 22, 1923 to John G. and Jean Gladys Lewis Wiedmer. He died Dec. 13, 1944 and is buried in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, CA.

Pvt. Wiedmer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 346th Infantry, 87th Infantry Division.

Carroll Robinson “Bob” Wilson was born Nov 20, 1921 to Paul J. and Edith B. Wilson. He died June 2, 1945 and is buried in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.

Lt. Wilson served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 5th Regiment, 1st Division and was KIA in the Pacific Area.

George Joseph Winders was born Feb. 14, 1920 to Rezin and Dorothea Anna Zugenbuler Winders. He died Nov. 14, 1951 and is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, IA.

George served in World War II with the U.S. Army Transportation Corps.
