Leslie Edward Thornton was born Oct. 6, 1916 to Frank Alonzo and Hulda Caroline Kottke Thornton. He died Mar. 25, 1945 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Spirit Lake, IA.
Sgt. Thornton served with the U.S. Army 115th Cavalry in World War II.
