Homer Weston Brockmeyer was born Apr. 14, 1923 to Edward Reuben and Emma Louise Hartbeck Brockmeyer. He died June 21, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 5, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii and is buried in Zion Cemetery, Colesburg, IA.

Ensign Brockmeyer served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Corps Bombing Squadron Sixteen and was MIA/FOD/KIA as a result of operations against the enemy fleet in the Western Pacific Ocean. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross.
