Earl Clement Dougherty was born Dec. 16, 1906 to Pat and Margaret Costello Dougherty. He died Oct. 8, 1944 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery, Dinoze, France.

Sgt. Dougherty served in World War II with the U.S. Army 314th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division and died of wounds received in action. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
