George Ludwig Johannes Eckhardt was born Mar. 30, 1910 to Louis and Bertha Eckhardt. He died Nov. 12, 1944. He was buried in a U.S. Military Cemetery in Eastern France and has a cenotaph in Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield, IA. 

Sgt. Eckhardt served with the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II. He was wounded in the Normandy Invasion and awarded the Purple Heart and Infantry Expert Combat Badge.

Elmer William “Bud” Edel was born Feb. 16, 1919 to Charles H. and Anna Margaret Stalzer Edel. He died Feb. 27, 2007 and is buried in Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA. 

Elmer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a B-24 pilot.

Kenneth Owen “Ken” Elliott was born Sept. 5, 1917 to Fred O. and Allela Asenith Benight Elliott. He died Mar. 29, 1998.

Ken served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

John Michael Evanoff was born Sept. 19, 1925 to Mike and Isana Roschoff Evanoff. He died Nov. 27, 1948 and is buried in Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, IA.

Pvt. Evanoff served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 2532nd Base Unit.
