Donald Lavert “Don” Sanborn ws born Oct. 28, 1916 to Oscar L. and Maude E. Mirisell Sanborn. He died Feb. 10, 1991 in CA.

Don served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Harold Rasmussen “Harry” Sand was born Feb. 4, 1923 to Peter and Mary Rasmussen Sand. He died July 29, 2017 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center, IA.

Plt. Sgt. Sand served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific and participated in action at Tarawa, Gilbert Islands, Saipan and Tinian, Marianas Islands, and Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands. He was awarded Purple Heart after being wounded on Okinawa.

Charles Leonard Sandquist as born Sept. 30, 1919 to Peter Gustav and Bessie A. Nerly Sandquist. He died June 1, 2015 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Sgt. Sandquist served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 447th Bomb Group, Eighth Air Force participating in bombing attacks on vital German industries and military installations. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.
