Pvt. Hiatt served in World War II with the U.S. Army 163rd Infantry, 41st Division and was an honor guard for General MacArthur’s Headquarters.

Lewis Vernon “Wick” Higgins was born Feb. 17, 1912 to William Orville and Anna Louise Nelson Higgins. He died Sept. 25, 1968 and is buried in Lake City Cemetery, Lake City, IA.

Cpl. Lewis served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska, when it was bombed by the Japanese.
