Frank Theobold Gerhard was born July 24, 1902 to George F. and Elsie K. Gerhard. He died Oct. 27, 1944 and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene, IA.

Pvt. Gerhard served in World War II with the U.S. Army 80th Infantry Training Battalion.

Earnest LeRoy “LeRoy" Grant was born July 16, 1920 to James Raymond and Mary Jane Coen Grant. He died Sept. 17, 2007 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock, IA.

LeRoy served in World War II with the U.S. Army 103rd Infantry Division and was WIA during the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Stars for Central Europe, and a Good Conduct Medal.

Edwin Henry Groote was born Sept. 7, 1923 to Elso F. and Anna Tjpekes Groote. He died Feb. 24, 1945 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg, IA.

Pvt. Groote served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division and died while in the service of his country.
