Cyril C. Kjolhede was born Nov. 30, 1925 to Chris and Esther Jensen Kjolhede. He died Jan. 14, 1989 and is buried in Ankeny Memorial Gardens, Crocker Township, Polk County, IA. Cyril served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Gerhardt Marvin Kjolhede was born Aug. 19, 1915 to Carl and Eva Kjolhede. He died Feb. 19, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Kjolhede served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Peary (DD-226) which was sunk by Japanese aircraft at Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart.
