 August Frederick “Bud" Burger, Jr. was born Sept. 22, 1925 to August Frederick and Mabel Luella Williams Burger. He died Apr. 2, 2007 and is buried in Iredell Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC. Bud served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Leonard Arvin Burwell was born Nov. 23, 1920 to Walter S. and Mary Eliza Troxel Burwell. He died Nov. 25, 1944 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 5, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Burwell served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was KIA on Makin Island in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
