Malachi James "Malachy” Cashen was born Aug. 20, 1907 to John Henry and Gertrude Ann Ringold Cashen. He died Dec. 7, 1941 and is buried in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. 

Cpl. Cashen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 15th Pursuit Group, 72nd Pursuit Squadron at Wheeler Air Field near Pearl Harbor when Japanese planes strafed/bombed the field. He was assigned to the field’s supply office and died of gunshot wounds.

David Merlin Cole was born Sept. 24, 1926 to Ernest O. and Ethel Clara Trumbauer Cole. He died June 20, 1945 and is buried in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. He was initially buried in the First Marine Division Cemetery on Okinawa Island.

Pvt. Cole served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Marine Division and was KIA on Okinawa, Ryukyu Islands.

Everett E. Cook was born Dec. 15, 1923 to Howard John and Anna Elizabeth Speas Cook. He died Dec. 13, 1951 and is buried in Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop, IA.

Petty Officer Cook served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Air Corps aboard the USS Kalinin Bay (DVE-68) and USS Badoeng Strait (CVE-116).
