Vernon C. Snittjer was born oct. 14, 1911 to Henry J. and Esther Clifford Snittjer. He died June 6, 1942 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and memorialized in Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Holland, IA.

Sgt. Snittjer served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was MIA/POW/FOD and died in Cabanatuan Prison Camp, Philippine Islands.
