John Gordon O'Brien was born Jan. 23, 1908 to John Edmund and Decorah Grattan O’Brien. He died May 4, 1986 and is buried in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon, IA.

Brig. Gen. O’Brien served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was the Judge Advocate General for Europe and commandant of the Judge Advocate General's School in Charlottesville, VA. He also served in Korea.

Raymond Cyril O’Brien was born July 5, 1918 to William “Bill” and Leocadia Healy O’Brien. He died Mar. 29, 2011 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waukon, IA.

Raymond served in World War II with the U.S. Army 18th Field Artillery Battalion in Northern Europe, including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart. He was married to Mary Irene Cavanaugh who served in World War II with the U.S. Navy WAVES.
