Leo E. Bollman was born Jan. 25, 1922 to Ira Sankey and Edna Mae Perkins Bollman. He died July 1, 2008 and is buried in Smithfield Cemetery, Volney, IA.

Sgt. Bollman served in World War with the U.S. Army Air Corps 339th Bomb Squadron, 96th Bomb Group. He was also awarded his glider pilot wings. He became a radioman/belly gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress, ‘Black Sheep’, and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Battle Star.

Beacher Eli Bollman was born Aug. 21, 1916 to Charles Ransom and Etta Mabel Deal Bollman. He died Jan. 24, 2010 and is buried in IOOF Cemetery, Rossville, IA.

Beacher served in World War II with the U.S. Army 30th Infantry in Germany.

Albert Sidney Bowen, Sr. was born July 28, 1879 to Daniel H. and Nettie Burns Bowen. He died Apr. 18, 1967 and is buried in El Carmelo Cemetery, Pacific Grove, CA.

Col. Bowen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He also served in the Spanish-American War and WWI. Dr. Bowen was stationed at various hospitals in the U.S. until his mandatory retirement at the age of 64.

Albert Sidney Bowen, Jr. was born Jan. 4, 1916 to Albert Sidney (Sr.) and Phoebe Jane Moyer. He died Mar. 23, 2002 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Lt. Col. Bowen served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps Ninth Air Force in the European Theater of Operations. He was a pilot of the A-20 and A-20G Light Bombers, flying 65 missions, of which two were on D-Day. He also served in Korea and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 12 Oak Leaf Clusters, and 3 Commendation Medals along with many other medals during his 23 year career.
