John Schwab Faber was born May 18, 1927 to Glen Roy and Fay “Fannie” Schwab Faber. He died Jan. 21, 1972 and is buried in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD. Sgt. Faber served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Melvin Leroy Faber was born Dec. 20, 1918 to Glen Roy and Fay “Fannie” Schwab Faber. He died May 2, 2007 and is buried in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, IA. Melvin served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was a POW in Germany for 26 months.

Erwin John Foster was born on January 11, 1923, in Fontanelle, Iowa. He was the first-born child of Emmert and Irene Dwyer Foster. He grew up in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School. Erwin was inducted into the United States Army on January 30, 1943. He served with the 135th Medical Regiment in the Philippines, New Guinea, and the Occupation Forces of Japan. He suffered an attack of dengue fever, followed by hepatitis, while in New Guinea. He also served in Australia at two different times.
