OUR VITAL STATISTICS, An Increase over that of 1901 |
| A Large Number of Elderly People in the Death List. City Assessor Charles McMasters has just completed his enumeration in the department of vital statistics for the past year and it is remarkable for its number of both births and deaths. Of the former there are sixty, seven more than the previous year. Of deaths there were forty-five, sixteen more than the previous year. Of the births, the large percentage were males, there being thirty-six as against twenty-four females. In the deaths the males also predominate, comprising twenty-eight of the forty-five. Twenty-three of the deaths were of aged persons, people of sixty years or more. Eight were between sixty and seventy years, ten were between seventy and eighty years, four were between eighty and ninety and one was over ninety. The average age of these twenty-three people was over seventy-four years. Herewith we give the list: |
