IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ACADEMY.

This evening at the usual hour the annual commencement exercises at the Immaculate Conception Academy will take place. A class of six will graduate:

Corolan, E.
Holloran, M.
Jennisch, G.
Jennisch, K.
Madden, M.
Powers, E.

The ninth annual commencement exercises of the Immaculate Conception Academy took place at the school building last Thursday evening. In common with the patrons of all schools this event is one of great pleasure to those interested-in the welfare of this school, and the rooms in which the exercises were held were crowded to their utmost capacity. The floral decorations were very profuse and pretty and the graduates were recipients of numerous bouquets and baskets of flowers.

The program was a varied one. Besides the essays by the graduates there was a long list of numbers including music, recitations, fancy drills, etc., which were exceedingly well rendered and very enjoyable. We would not attempt to say which number was the best. The graduating class was composed of six young ladies, and is one of the best classes that has ever gone out from this academy. The valedictory was delivered by Mrs. N. Carolan. At the close of the exercises the graduates were addressed by Rev. J. J. Hanley, of Dubuque, who gave them some very sound advice for their guidance in after life.
