Jun 1844 in Sogn, Norway and came to America in 1854 at the age of 10. She died 30 Jul 1899. Ole and Aase farmed in Springfield Twp. and belonged to the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. They had 6 sons: John Olavus, Martin Julius, Ole Andrew, Nickolai, Karl Otto, and Ole Theodore and 5 daughters - Caroline, Anna Marie, Emma Matilda, Ida Emelia and Amanda Ella.

John Olavus (b. 1 Apr 1865) married Minnie Nise. They lived in Ossian, IA and had 2 children, Anna and Julian. Julian and his wife Ellen and daughter Helen lived in Decorah. Caroline (b. 6 Jun 1867-26 Nov 1956) married Andrew Anderson who farmed in Frankville Twp. They had 6 children: Oscar, Esther, Anna Charlotte Martinson, Emelia, Cornelius and Andrew Carleton. (See Andrew and Caroline Anderson and A. Carleton and Dorothy (Wepler) Anderson listings.) Martin Julius (b. 25 Dec 1868) married Tina Timmerman. They lived in Chester, IA and had a daughter Esther and a son Karl. Karl, his wife Muriel, and their sons Dick and Skip live in Cedar Falls, la. Anna Marie (b. 1 May 1872) married Sven Tovson. Their home was in Decorah. They had one son Orlando who lived in Decorah. Orlando married Agnes Hanson and had a daughter Renee M. (m. Crismanh Nickolai was born 13 May 1874. Emma Matilda (b. 30 Dec 1875) married Peter Guttebo (15 Mar 1875-10 Jan 1941). They had a daughter Gladys (b. 30 Aug 1914) and a son Levi Peter (23 Sep 1908-19 Jun 1995) who farmed in the Washington Prairie area. The Guttebos were members of the Washington Prairie Lutheran Church where he was active as Sunday School treasurer, junior choir director and trustee. Levi’s wife Nora Mikelson was born 10 Dec 1910. They were married 30 Aug 1934 by Rev. Carl Losen at Big Canoe Lutheran Church. They have one son Lester and a daughter Rose Ann Pridie. Levi enjoyed singing and was a member of Grieg and the Luren Singing Society for over 30 years. Karl Otto (b. 20 Jul 1878). Ida Emelia (b. 1 Feb. 1880) Ole Theodore (4 Jun 1882). Amanda Ella (b. 5 Apr 1886) married Karl Hanson who was business manager and treasurer at Luther College. Their 5 children are: Esther (m. Harold Hoff) and lived in Duluth, MN: Margaret (m. Elmo Gulsvig) and lived in Westby, Wl; Alice (m. Jerry Bernatz) and lived in Chatfield, MN; Austin (m. Ruth Glesne) and lived in Muscatine, IA; and Karl Jr. (m. Shirley Kolaas). He was with the air force from 1947-1957 and lived many places. From 1957-1986 he was with IBM and moved from Milwaukee, Wl to Byron, MN to Aurora, MN and last to Washington, IL. After Karl’s death Shirley moved back to Decorah. All graduated from Luther College except Karl Jr.

Moellers, Frank and Christina (Timp)

Frank A. Moellers was born 30 Oct 1892 and Christina Timp was born 6 May 1897. Frank and Christina were married 6 Sep 1919 in Ossian, IA at St. Francis De Sales Church. They had 4 children: Malinda (1920), Sylvester (1923), Imogene (1926) and Elberta (1933). They lived most of their married life on a farm one mile south of

Ossian. This farm has now been made into the Silver Springs Golf Course.

Frank and Christina Moellers, 1919

Frank and Christina had a small bottled-milk business known as the Silvers Springs Dairy. They supplied Ossian residents with bottled milk and cream daily. Christina’s brother Arnold (who was crippled from childhood with polio) delivered the milk daily.

Their farm life was centered around milking, field work, hogs and chickens. Social life centered around their church and visiting relatives who lived close around. Frank enjoyed playing solo with several other men and when a card game occurred the wives and children would get together also. This was followed by a hearty lunch near midnight. Christina was a good seamstress and made clothes for the family and others. She also made and quilted quilts. Frank died 8 Apr 1974 and Christina died 21 Jun 1985 after they had retired to Ossian.

Amund Endresson Tveitamoen was born 5 Sep 1810 in Valdres, Norway, the son of Endre Madson Tveit (1774-1839) and Marit Amundsdtr Lomstein (1773-1847). Endre and Marit were married in 1795. Their children were: Ingebjorg (1796), Amund (1798-1809), Mads (1801), Marit (1803), Ivar (1807), Amund (5 Sep 1810-27 Jun 1884), Endre (1814-1815), Sigrid (1816), and Ingebjorg (1821-1842).
