1890 & 1891

Although a three-year high school course had been set up in 1881, the first public commencement exercises were not held until June 27, 1890.

Those graduates were:

Edith Larson, W. A. "Billy" Olson, R. C. Plummer, Edna Mahoney, Albert Anderson, Samuel Johansen, Emma Lunsett, Fred Blennerhassett, John Bakke, and Sylvanus Lewis.

The following year, on May 22, 1891, the following students graduated:

Julia Ulland, Myrtle Babbitt, Enoch Dalquist, Lily Wheeler and Ida Hanson

1926

Forest City High School Class of 1925 Reunion

CLASS OF 1926 of Forest City high school held its 50-year reunion banquet Saturday night with 27 out of the original 46 members present (ten are deceased).  It was also the first such reunion the class has ever held.  Pictured (first row, from left) are Lila Halvorsen, Esther Hanson, Mildred Soals Wilcox, Helen Grant Peterson, Gayle Meyers, Ina Paulson Flower, Bee Tweeten Maricle and Berneice Lein Eliason.  Second row:  Helga Bartleson Taylor, Emma Steiff Boman, Lillian Watson, Anna Gjertson Holland, Gayle Hodson Cottington, Luella Thompson, Mildred Manuel Glashen, Beatrice Anderson Johnson, Ingebor Kloppen Legried and Dorothy Olson Westerberg.  Third row:  Ethel Swanson Gunderson, Lillian Issaacson Swanson, Russell Lewis, Sylvan Lackore, A. Forest City High School Alumni Reunion 1957

Class of 1957 Holds 20-year Reunion

Forest City high school graduating class of 1957 held its 20th class reunion at 6 p.m., July 16 at the Forest City country club with 45 class members present.

Lloyd Thorsheim, one of the class teachers, was master of ceremonies.

Letters and messages from fellow classmates absent from the reunion were read by Pat Peterson and an introduction of teachers was made by Jerry Dunbar.  Mary Ann Rogeness was on hand to present various awards: longest distance traveled was presented to David Hove from Switzerland, most changed to Ester Edwards Tatley of St. Paul, Minn., least changed to Dennis Hagen and grandparent with the oldest grandchild to Luther Hermanson of Lake Mills.
