Luverne Gibson
Luverne Gibson was born near Woden, Iowa, January 12, 1923. He was the son of Merle and Olive Wentworth Gibson and never married. He was inducted in August of 1940 at Luverne, Minnesota, and was a member of the 513 Paratroopers of the 17th Airborne Division. He was killed at Bastogne, Belgium, on January 4, 1945, during the "Battle of the Bulge," and is buried in Graceland Cemetery at Buffalo Center.
