Carroll Fisher, Fireman 2/C, was Thompson's first casualty. He gave his life when his ship was torpedoed in mid Atlantic on Feb. 7, 1943. He was 29 years old. Survived by his wife and daughter and his mother, Mrs. Emma Fisher.
