I do not have Mr. CROUSE"S first name but I know he married a Ms. BURDICK in the late 1800's. He or members of his family family came to Fort Dodge from Owen or Marian County. At one time Mr. Crouse owned and operated a motel in Fort Dodge. He eventually worked or owned a construction business and died while on vacation in Florida. There were two children a girl and boy from his first marriage as he later divorced and remarried.
I am looking for information about Sarah Nancy DEWITT - her father was William DeWitt and her mother Matilda Allison DeWitt. They are supposed to have lived in Webster County from about 1850 on.
Sarah married William Henry SPAINHOWER in Homer, Ia. She died 2/7/1889 in Webster County, Ia. She had one son and one daughter. Family story is she lost three brothers in the Civil War. Would like to hear from anyone who has heard of these families. Thank You.
My great Grandmother was born on Feb 10, 1862 in Fort Dodge, Webster County, Iowa. Her name was Mary Louise CROUSE. She has a brother named Emory. We are in the process of working on our family tree, and hit a major road block. We know nothing about her family, who her parents were, where they came from, nothing. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking at the E. LAIRD listed in the 1908 Newspaper, from the township of Ia, E. Laird vs. school board. I am pretty sure that the record is indication my great-grandfather, but not certain. My great grandfather Virgil Laird would have been 6 years old at the time. He had owned a farm in Otho and died there as well, the farm I was told was paved over for a road unfortunately. Nicolie AASERUD B: 1839 D: December 1903 & Anna ANDERSON JOHNSON B: 26 December 1844 D: 22 April 1915, were married in 1886 with Badger as their residence. (no record of the marriage that we have been able to find). Anna had a daughter, Jennie B: 4 April 1880 by her first marriage to Mr. Johnson, who died in Norway. Anna & Jennie left Norway in 1884 and came to Badger, Iowa. John, the son of Nicolie and Anna, B: 24 October 1886 D: 6 May 1945. Ther is no record of John ever being born. Nicolie was a rich farmer that owned one of the first surreys. They left WEbster County and moved to Humboldt County in 1893. Any info on them in Webster County would be appreciated. Maybe there are some relatives of Nicolie and Anna in Webster County?

My name is Kathleen Smith. I live in Wood County, Ohio. I am looking for descendants of Philinda SMITH BICKFORD and Leander BICKFORD.Philinda was the eldest daughter of Rev. JEDEDIAH SMITH and SALLY WILCOX. Most of the family moved from New York and PA areas and settled in Lenawee Co and Monroe Co in Michigan. Philinda and Leander lived in Webster City, IA.
Philinda was born in Preston, Chenango Co. NY on November 20, 1825 to Jedediah Smith and Sally Wilcox. Sally and Jedediah were married on September 25, 1884. Jedediah was born in New London CT on May 10, 1802 and died in Deerfield MI on March 1, 1883. Sally was born in Preston, Chenango Co, NY on October 10, 1803 and died in Sherman, NY on September 17, 1836. Jedediah and Sally had three children - Philinda, Lewis, and Emeline. (Lewis is my direct ancestor). Jedediah married again and had two more children - Susan and Eliot J.

The 1870 census index shows a HENRY CROOK in Webster County IA Wahkonsa page 516. I'm in North Yorkshire UK and would like to find out if this could be a long lost relative who emigrated from UK in early 1860's. His wife would be ANGELINA or Elizabeth lso born UK.
I haven't found the gravesite of my great grandfather, Willian CURRAN. I believe he died Jan 1913-14, Vinton, IA. I can't find anything on him at all. If I didn't know better. I'd think he was hiding from me!
He was married to Bridget BREEN who is buried in Livermore, Sacred Heart Cemetery, IA. She died 22 Feb 1924, in Eagle Grove.
