FUNERAL HELD ON MONDAY, NOV. 18 AT LEHIGH
SHE DIED AT THE C. E. ROGERS HOME IN BOONE
Her Death Occured on Saturday, November 16, 1918 -- She Leaves Her Husband
and One Small Son. -- Pneumonia Causes of Death
On Monday afternoon, Nov. 18, funeral of Mrs. James Flockhart was held in
Lehigh. Mrs. Flockhart passed away in this city at the C. E. Rogers home,
1110 Walnut street on Saturday evening, November 16, 1918 at 5:30 o'clock.
Mr. & Mrs. Flockhart and baby, Harold, came to Boone to visit when she
became ill with influenza and later pneumonia. The husband and baby were
unable to attend the funeral because of being ill.
Miss Lydia Bailey was married to James Flockhart, May 5, 1915. To this
union was born one child, being now two and one-half years old. She leaves
to mourn her death besides her husband and baby, her mother and father, Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Bailey of Lehigh, five brothers and three sisters, all of
Lehigh and other relatives and friends.
She proved to be a good wife and mother and made friends wherever she
went. She was a member of the W. R. C. No 12. She was born near Lehigh,
being at the time of her death 20 years and 5 months olds. All that loving
friends could do for her was in vain. Mr. Flockhart is improving slowly, and
is able to be up part of the time.

MRS. FLOCKHART DIES AT BOONE
The many friends of Mrs. James Flockhart were grieved to learn of her
death, which occured at Boone, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Flockhart have been
spending the greatest part of the past summer east of town at the home of
Mrs. Flockhart's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Samual Bailey, and only recently
moved to Fort Dodge. Last week they were called to Boone to attend the
funeral fo Mrs. Flockhart's grandfather, and while there both Mr. and Mrs.
Flockhart were the taken with the influenza. Mrs. Flockhart passed away
Saturday and Mr. Flockhart was in a critical condition for several days, but
is now improving slowly.
The remains of Mrs. Flockhart were brought to this place Monday morning
and short services were held here and the interment was made in the Oak
Grove Cemetery, Rev. English of the Methodist church having charge of the
services.
Lydia Mae Bailey was born south of Lehigh, May 5, 1898, and passed away at
Boone, Iowa, Saturday, November 16, 1918, aged 20 years, 6 months and 12
days. She was united in marriage to James H. Flockhart on May 5, 1915.
Besides a sorrowing husband she leaves a baby two and a half years old, her
father and mother, five brothers, George Bailey of Webster City; David
Bailey of this place; John Bailey now of Camp Lloyd, Wheaton, Chicago;
Cleveland Bailey of Fort Dodge and Thomas Bailey who remains at home. Three
sisters, all of this place, Mrs. Hester Young, Mrs Alta Fye and Mrs. Birdie
Bailey.
The deceased was held in high esteem by all acquaintances and the sincere
sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved parents and other relatives in
the untimely death of this young woman.
