My great grandmother Martha Jane
Wilkie was orphaned in November of 1864, she was the
daughter of George W. Wilkie and Eunice Wilkie.
Following is the list of people who purchased items
from the following sale. Corydon, Wayne Co., IA
(Submitted by Jeanne Hibler).
ADMINISTRATOR'S SALE NOTICE is hereby
given, "That on the 16th day of December next, between
the hours of 10 o'clock in the forenoon and 5 o'clock
in the afternoon of said day, at the residence of G.
W. Wilkie deceased, the personal property of said
decedent, consiting of horses and cattle, sheep, hogs,
corn, hay, potatoes, ? wagon, sled, harrow, plows and
other farming ?, also a number of beds and bedding,
dishware. Stoves, chairs, cupboard, chests, kitchen
furnture and other aritcles will be sold at PUBLIC
SALE. TERMS of SALE: Purchases of less than Five
Dollars to be paid in hand; for that amount and over,
on a credit of Twelve months, the purchaser giving
Note, with approved security. A discount of ten
percent will be made on all sums over 5 dollars if the
