1839 Washington County Taxpayers
This list was published in the Washington Evening Journal on July 1936 for the Washington Centennial and transcribed by Joanne Breen in August 2014.
Washington County's first tax list bears the date of 1839 and is being the first one prepared for the county and not being very voluminous it is well worth preservation because it shows who the first taxpayers were, the rate of levy and the available revenues of the county:
