Explanation of Iowa's 1925 Census Format

Did you know that Iowa's 1925 Census is the only U.S. census that asked for parent's names - including mother's maiden name!

Iowa's 1925 census was compiled in books that included 150 people per book. For each person, 11 sections of information was gathered. These 11 sections included 71 columns. Click the section explanations below to see examples of why this census was so full of genealogical information.
