Milo Cemetery

MILO CEMETERY is in the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 18 of Belmont Township. It is located about three-fourths of a mile north of Milo, Iowa. It is under the care of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

The pioneers of the Milo area are not buried in Milo Cemetery. They are in Belmont Cemetery and Plainville Cemetery.

Milo is the newest town of Warren County. It was laid out in 1879 by S.H. Mallory, the builder of the railroad from Chariton to Indianola. Hammondsburg, in Otter Township, and Schonburg, in Belmont Township, were moved to Milo, which is now the only town in Belmont Township.
