Company G, 168th Infantry

     Company G, Second Regiment, Iowa national guard, dates back to April 19, 1884. It originated in the old Methodist Church, which was on the site of the present courthouse. Then moved to the Opera House location, in 1892. The headquarters were later moved to the armory on the corner of Fourth and Market, also known as Turner hall, until 1906. The first camp experience for this regiment was in 1885 at Centerville, IA.
