JOSEPH YEAGER
JOSEPH YEAGER, in August, 1861 enlisted in the defense of the
Union, and was assigned to Company G, Eleventh Iowa Infantry, and
served three years. He participated in the battle of Shiloh, siege at
Corinth, battle of Iuka, second battle of Corinth, siege of
Vicksburg, and after the surrender of Vicksburg stationed there nine
months on garrison duty. He was in the siege of Atlanta, and the
battles preceding it, and on July 22, 1864, was wounded in the
shoulder, by a fragment of shell. He died at Creston, of heart
trouble in 1894.
