Searching for GOLDSBURY family that lived in Afton, IA, in 1880's and 1890's. This family appears in the 1885 Iowa state census headed by a single parent Mariah GOLDSBURY. They had lived in Illinois prior to moving to Iowa. The childred that I know of are John Richard GOLDSBURY (born 1862), Charles GOLDSBURY (born 1867) and William GOLDSBURY (born 1872). I would welcome any information on this family. The oldest son, John Richard, married Sarah DAVIS in Afton in 1888.
HUGH HENDERSON BELL, b. abt. 1855, lived in Creston, IA in 1900 and 1905, died 1887 in Creston, buried in Corning, IA.
Mary Ann E. McMANIS, born December 25, 1836 Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She died May 26, 1896 Creston, Union, Iowa She married John Hamilton YOUNG,February 14, 1854, in Princeton, Bureau, Illinois. John Hamilton YOUNG was born March 31, 1824, and he died February 05, 1883 Stewartville, Rock Island, Illinois. I am searching for any information on either of these two families, I have some information about the YOUNGS, but not about McMANIS. I have their Children in my database.
Looking for information on Nathaniel Raphael who lived Creston IA around the turn of the century. (He had a son named Harry born in Creston in 1898.) Nathaniel was married to an Elizabeth nee Hyman.
I have a copy of a 1926 obit for Louise Hickenbottom of Parsonsville. I am not sure where Parsonsville is located but I believe it is in Union Co. If anyone knows where this town or former town is/was located let me know an I'll post. CK
HENDRICKS family: I am looking for information on my Great Grandmother, Anna Elizabeth HENDRICKS SHAY. She was born in Illinois on 6 Jun 1850. I have not found her in any pre-marriage census except in Union County, Iowa, in 1870. This was shortly before her marriage to David SHAY in Newhope Twp. She is listed as a guest at the household of James & Maranda HENDRICKS (with son Burris). Also listed is Felix HENDRICKS, which is listed as working on farm. James was also born in Illinois, born abt 1842. Suspect that James and Felix are close relatives (brothers, cousins, or Uncles?) Would appreciate any leads.
Looking for SIMON P. WOLFE b:1853 Moved to Shannon City, Iowa and raised his family. Possibly co-owner with a Frank Wolfe of "Wolfe and Wolfe" hardward store. Any help much appreciated!
Looking for info on the ROBINSON, COATES and KEMMER families. Thomas M. ROBINSON b. 10 June 1825 in Ohio, m. Jane COATES about 1850. Their children were Elizabeth A., Josiah Emerson and Adda J. Jane died about 1864 and Thomas married Evaline FORAKER in Union Co.. Their child was T. Corwin Robinson. Thomas M. was postmaster in Afton during the 1850's, he died 20 May 1897--where? His son, Josiah Emerson ROBINSON married Elizabeth KEMMER about 1876 Union Co.. Her parents, Samuel and Sarah KEMMER and brothers, Jerry and Alexander were buried in Thayer, Union County. I've been unable to find Elizabeth and Josiah's places or dates of death. Help, hints or info will be appreciated.

Siblings of William (taken from 1870/1880 census) were Daniel, James, Maria,? A.B.(this is a female), Catherine Naomi, Jacob, & John.
