Whaley, Lois - Funeral services for Lois Loretta
Oxley Whaley, 96, were held January 29, 1988 at the Siam Christian Church
at 1 p.m. Burial was at the Siam Cemetery with Loren Daly officiating.
Mrs Whaley had the honor of being the church's oldest member at the time
of her death.
Born at Siam, Ia, May 13, 1891, she was one of five children born to
Ethan Irvin Jr and Marilda [sic] Smith Oxley.
She married Victor Hugo Whaley May 10, 1911. To this union 14 children
were born. Hobert and Ruth died in infancy. The Whaleys were farmers and
lived in Siam until health forced them to leave some 29 years ago. Mrs
Whaley has been in a care center some 25 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wilbur of Fremont, Ca; Kirk
and Clyde of Council Bluffs and Dale of Omaha, Ne; her duaghter include
Vesta (Peggy) Damico of Buckeye, Az; Wava Gwyford [sic] of St Louis, Mo
and Rosa Rucker of Bedford; several grandchildren; great grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
Her husband Victor, sons Omar, Russell and Loren and daughter Alma preceded
her in death.
She will be missed by all who loved her.

Whaley, Lois - Lois Loretta Whaley, 96, of
Council Bluffs, formerly of Siam, died Tuesday evening, Jan 26, 1988.
Born May 13, 1891, she was the daughter of Irvin and Zerelda Oxley.
She married Victor Hugo Whaley, May 16, 1911.
Survivors include three daughters, Vesta De Amico of Arizona, Wava Tyruford
[sic] of St Louis, and Rose Rucker of Bedford; four sons, Dale of Omaha,
Clyde and Kirk of Council Bluffs, and Wilbur of California; and several
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, seven children and three grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. at the Siam Christian Church with burial
in Siam cemetery.

Whaley, Omer - Funeral services for Omer Whaley,
52, of Dubuque, Iowa, a native of Siam, were held December 28 in Dubuque.
Mr Whaley died December 25, 1974 there. Interment was in Dubuque.
Omer Whaley, son of Victor and Lois Oxley Whaley, was born in Siam April
6, 1922. He attended school in Siam and also the Christian Church. He
was a 1941 graduate of New Market High School.
He joined the army after graduation and served until he was wounded by
shrapnel at Anzio Beachhead. After hospitalization he attended trade school
in Dubuque.
He was married to Helen Dugan of Dubuque. He established a TV and radio
repair shop in his home which he operated as long as his health permitted.
He is survived by his wife; two children, Patricia Ann and Mike of the
home; his parents in Council Bluffs; six brothers, Gerald of Clarinda,
Wilber of Fremont, Calif, Dale and Russell of Omaha, Clyde and Kirk of
Council Bluffs, four sisters, Mrs Rose Rucker of Bedford, Mrs Vesta Damico,
Phoenix, Ariz, Mrs Alma Breit of Savannah, Mo, and Mrs Wava Twyford, St
Louis, Mo.
Mr and Mrs Jerry Rucker of Bedford and Gerald Whaley of Clarinda attended
the services.

Whaley, Omer - Funeral services for Omer Whaley,
52, were held Saturday at Dubuque following his death on Christmas Day
at Dubuque. Gerald Whaley and Mr and Mrs Jerry Rucker of Clarinda were
among those attending, the burial being at Dubuque.
He was son of Victor and Lois Oxley Whaley, born at Siam on April 6,
1922. He attended school at Siam and attended the Christian Church there.
Immediately after being graduated from New Market high shcool in the class
of 1941, he joined the Army and served till he was wounded by shrapnel
at the Anglo Beach Head. After he returned from hospitalization and attended
trade school in Dubuque, he was married to Helen Dugan. He had a TV and
radio shop which he operated as long as his health permitted.

Whaley, Grover - Funeral services for Grover
(Doc) Whaley, 70, of Clarinda will be at 2 pm, Saturday, at Walker-Merrick
Funeral Home with Rev Merle Vunk officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7-8 pm Friday.
Mr Whaley died this Thursday morning at his home after a long illness.He
was born Sept 9, 1912, at Siam, the son of Victor Hugo and Lois Oxley
Whaley.
He had retired from Coca-Cola Foods Division at Omaha.
On May 16, 1942 he was married to Glenna (Bonnie) Teeters who survives.
Surviving children are: Wilbur of Council Bluffs, Mrs Marion (Connie)
Yordt of El Cajon, Ca; Garold of North Platte, Ne; Donald of Clarinda;
Mrs Ronnie (Dorohty) Miller Jr of Cody, Wy; Mark of Cody; and Barbara
Whaley of Clarinda.
There are six grandchildren. His mother Lois Whaley is a patient at Medicare
Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Burial will be in Clarinda cemetery.
