Beadel,
Richard –
Richard Beadel, 8, was killed Saturday night when he was struck on
the head by a light [?], which rolled down from a pile of poles on which he was
playing. He was unconscious when brought
to the Osceola hospital where he died a few moments later. Surviving are his father and mother Mr. and
Mrs. Ronald Beadel and one sister. His father operates a dairy barn at
Osceola. Ronald Beadel was a resident of Lenox for many years and a graduate of Lenox high school.

Brown, P. Ralph –
John G.
Spellman of Long Beach, California, sends us the following newspaper clipping
of the death of P. Ralph Brown of Garden Grove, Calif., under date of January
12.
P. Ralph
Brown, 68, of 805 Aradia St. died yesterday at his
home. He was a retired postal clerk in
the Long Beach post office. Born near
Lenox, Iowa, Brown spent his early life on a farm near Pawnee, Neb. He lived for 15 years in Phoenix, Ariz., and
came to California in 1919 and lived in Compton until a year ago when he moved
to Garden Grove. He became a postal clerk in 1913 and worked at the Phoenix and
Long Beach post offices, retiring in 1941.
He was a
member of the Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday School superintendent and elder of the North Long Beach Presbyterian Church.
Surviving
are the widow, Pearl J.; a son, R. C. Brown of Compton, and a daughter, Mrs. J.
C. Werly, Jr. of Oakhurst.
Services
will be tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at Neel’s Mortuary, Compton, with Rev. Herbert Tweedie of the North Long Beach church officiating. Interment will be at Wood Lawn Park cemetery.

Curtis, David Caswell –
David
Caswell, son of James H. and Louise Curtis, was born September 10, 1891 in
Johnson City, Tennessee and departed this life at his home in Lenox, Iowa, Feb.
21, 1948, at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 11 days.
He moved to
Pawnee City, Nebraska, at the age of 16 with his parents, and resided there
until 12 years ago when he moved to Lenox. He was united in marriage to Mamie L. Nielson, Oct. 20, 1917, at
Beatrice, Nebraska. He united with the
Assembly of God Church at Monroe, Nebraska, fifteen years ago.
His greatest
pleasure was farm work and his chosen occupation was that until failing health
5 years ago.
He was one
of a large family, several of whom have preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, three brothers,
Carl and Bob of Monroe, Nebraska, and Nathan of Pawnee City, Nebr., two
sisters, Lucy Fieman of Ansley,
Nebraska, and Susie Rohm of Onawa, Iowa, several nieces and nephews and one
cousin, Harold Curtis of Long View, Washington, other relatives and many
friends.
The funeral
was held at the Methodist church at 2 p.m. on Monday and was in charge of the
pastor, the Rev. C. W. Richardson.

Erbe, Mrs. A. B. –
Mrs.
S.J. Wasson has received word of the death of her grandmother, Mrs. A. B. Erbe on December 15 [1947] at Los Angeles, California. Mrs. Erbe had been
a resident of Iowa for over seventy years. Though she went to California three years ago, she always remained loyal
to Iowa, and took great interest in copies of the Lenox Time Table, which she
received each week. Mr. Erbe preceded her in death eight years ago. Left to mourn are four children, three
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sheryl Jo Gaule, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gaule of Clearfield died at Greater Community hospital in
Creston Wednesday. She was 3 months and
26 days of age.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday afternoon at Crews funeral home in
Clearfield. Rev. D. C. Callison officiated and Mrs. Erlwood Huffman sang. Burial was in Clearfield
cemetery.
Surviving
are her parents, two brothers, Raymond and Rolland and two sisters, Janet and
Arlene.

resident, who passed away at his Pawnee City, Nebraska home Monday. Mr. Irwin’s wife passed away in July with burial

Kanoff, Harold F. Sr. –

South Gate, California, Mrs. T. R. Cochran sends us the following letter noting the death of a former
Lenox resident. It reads:
A
heart attack while he was at work as warehouse manager for an Oakland van and
storage company, took the life of Harold F. Kanoff of
San Leandro, in his 51st year.
A
native of Nebraska, Mr. Kanoff lived in Alameda for a
short while during the past few years and leaves many friends and several
members of his family in that city.
Mr. Kanoff was a member of the San Leandro Moose and the
Oakland Aerie of Eagle.
He is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Kanoff and a son,
Harold F. Kanoff, Jr. of Alamedo. His sister and brother,
Miss Eythel F. Kanoff,
George W., J. Wilson, and John H. Kanoff of Pamona, California.
Mr. Kanoff is a son of Jake Kanoff, a
former resident of Lenox who passed away several years ago, also a brother of
the late Mrs. Lawrence G. Sidener Jr. of Sacramento,
California, also will be remember as Hazel Sidener.
Funeral
services were held from the Chapel of Smiley and Gallagher in Oakland. Interment at Mountain View
cemetery.

Kreiger,
Jacob –
Jacob Kreiger, old-time resident of Lenox community, died
Saturday, January 10, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Bassett at Martinez,
California. Mr. Kreiger had reached the age of 91 years last November. His wife preceded him in death in 1934.
Mr. Kreiger came to this community in 1894 and farmed near here
until 1912 when he moved into Lenox and followed his trade of mason and contractor. Three years ago he went to California to make
his home with his daughter and family. He had always been in excellent health and was unusually well when he
left here and was sick only a few days before his death.
Funeral
services will be held at the Lenox Methodist church where the body will be
brought, on Friday, January 16, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Revs. Richardson and Moneymaker.

McGinnis, William L. –
Wm.
McGinnis, brother-in-law of K.C. Wurster and Mrs.
Carrie Thompson and cousin of Mrs. John Haering, died
at Choctaw, Oklahoma, Jan. 25, at the age of 79 years.
Mr. McGinnis
was a former Lenox resident and was married here. The Jones City, Okla. County News contains
the following history:
William L.
McGinnis, a well known farmer here whose home was two miles south of this town,
died at the Harrah clinic Sunday night. He was 79 years old. He had been
ill with pneumonia about six weeks.
Besides his
wife, he is survived by two sons, Loren and Carl McGinnis, Mrs. Paul
Westmoreland and Mrs. Alvin Lunsford. Mr. McGinnis was a man well liked by all who knew him. In former years he was quite active in civic
affairs, and took a great interest in politics. He will be greatly missed by many friends.
Services
were held at the Chocktaw Methodist church, Rev. Leo
Sullivan, Baptist church pastor, and Rev. C. S. Clark, retired Methodist
minister of Nicoma Park, officiated. Burial was in the Chocktaw cemetery.
Obituary
William Lovit McGinnis, son of William and Lydia McGinnis was born
at Hopkinton, Iowa, May 31, 1868. He
departed from his life January 25, 1948, at the age of 79 years, 7 months and
25 days.
He was
married to Mary Agnes Wurster at Lenox, Iowa, on May
11, 1897. To this union four children
were born, two sons, Loran W. and Karl O. McGinnis; two daughters, Mrs. Vira Westmoreland and Mrs. Nola Lunsford. Also left to mourn his passing
are 14 grandchildren.
William
McGinnis brought his family to Oklahoma City in Feb. 1903. They settled on a farm south of Choctaw in
1904 and have made their home here since.
He was for
many years a community leader and builder, sponsoring the consolidated school,
Farmers’ Union, an other projects. He ceased his active participation in
community affairs only when age made it impossible.

McManus, Joseph Henry –
Joseph Henry
McManus, 62, died at Greater Community hospital in Creston at 10 a.m. Sunday. He had been a patient in the hospital since
March, 1947. Funeral services were held
at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Lenox at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. G. G. Walker officiated. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at
Lenox. The Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Monday
at McGregor Brothers and Coen’s funeral home in
Creston.
Born Aug. 5,
1885, at Aledo, Ill., he was the son of John and Mary Ann Smith McManus. He had lived in Great Falls, Mont., from 1900
until about two years ago when he came to Creston. He was a farmer. He had never married.
Surviving
are five brothers, W. J. McManus, James McManus and M. L. McManus of Diagonal,
Tom McManus of Lenox, and David McManus of Wellsville, Kans., and a sister,
Mrs. Lizzie Vanderpluym of Diagonal.
Pallbearers
at the funeral were Donovan and Leo McManus, Paul and Chas. Vanderpluym,
Wallace and Henry Wiand.

Word was
received in Clearfield by Mrs. Laura Jarvis that her brother, Hiram Parkison, 74, died at Springfield, Ill., Thursday after an
illness of several weeks. Funeral
services were held at Springfield Saturday, and burial was there. Mr. Parkison had
visited in Clearfield and was known to many local people. Mrs. Bert Lyddon was a niece.
He is
survived by his widow, a son, Hiram, a daughter Mary Mauk,
two grandchildren, all of Springfield, Illinois; two brothers, Ed of
Selma, California, and Charles of
Springfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Frankenpohl of Creston and Mrs. Jarvis of Clearfield.

Maggie Belle Nelson –
Maggie Belle Paymal, daughter of Matthew and Nancy Nelson, was
born in Washington County, Iowa October 16, 1868 and passed away January 21,
1948 at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 5 days.
On February
26, 1879, she moved to Lenox, Iowa with her parents, where she resided until
her death, with the exception of the last two and a half years, which she had
spent in the Armstrong Nursing home in Bedford.
On December
18, 1889, she was united in marriage to George F. Paymal. To this union was born four children:
Charles, who died in infancy, Mrs. Hubert Pressnal of
Atlantic, Iowa, Guy Paymal of California and Mrs.
John Reynolds of Hopkins, Missouri.
She was a
member of the Methodist church but had not been able to attend in her later
years. She was also a member of the
Royal Neighbor Lodge.
She was
preceded in death by her husband almost three years ago. She is survived by three children, six
grandchildren and six great grandchildren; also two brothers, Ed and Roy
Nelson, two sisters, Mrs. Tom Monroe and Mrs. Edna Stevens, many nieces and
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on
Friday at the Barber Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Richardson.

Plants, Jesse Orval –
Jesse Orval Plants, son of Pembrook and
Margaret Plants, was born in Henry County, Iowa, near Winfield, on April 15,
1871, and passed away in the Greater Community Hospital, December 26, 1947, at
the age of 76 years, 8 months and 11 days.
His early
life was spent in and near Winfield, living with his grandparents and a maiden
aunt, following the death of his father, which occurred when he was but 7 years
old. When he was a young man he moved to
Lenox and, except for the few years when he lived near Clearfield, Lenox has
been his home.
On December
28, 1898, he was married to Margaret Maleta Caldwell. To this union four children
were born, all of whom survive their father. They are Ila Moore of Nodaway, Iowa; Myra Jackson of Brooks,
Iowa; Beryle Brown of Waterloo, Iowa, and Orval of Lenox.
He was
preceded in death by his wife in February 1941, and one granddaughter in
November 1940; also his parents and several sisters. The four children, one aged brother, 17
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren are left to mourn his passing, besides
a host of friends and neighbors.
Funeral
services were held at the Arnold Funeral home, Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. Acting as pallbearers were six grandsons, Reldon Jackson, Leslie Jackson, Dale Jackson, Gene Brown,
Burton Moore and Merlin Buck.

Will –
Funeral
services were conducted at the Arnold Funeral home at Lenox on Monday, January
26, at 10:30 a.m. for Dr. Will Readhead, 81, with
Father Gerald Walker officiating. Burial
was at the St. Patrick’s cemetery at Lenox.
Dr. Readhead died Friday at his home in Detroit, Michigan. Surviving are his widow, Ida, two daughters,
Miss Marjorie Readhead, and Mrs. Dorothy Knapler, all of Detroit; his sister, Mrs. J. F. Richardson,
and two brothers, Charles and Walter, of Milton, Ontario, Canada. Relatives at Lenox are a sister-in-law, Mrs.
Frank Paymal, and a nephew, Eugene Paymal.
The Readheads moved to Detroit in the spring of 1939. He had practiced as a veterinarian in Lenox
for 45 years.
Dr. Will Readhead came to Lenox 45 years ago on June 7 and started
his work as a veterinarian. He graduated
from the veterinary school in Toronto, Canada in 1898.
He was born
at Ancaster, Ontario on November 12, 1866, and at the
age of four years moved to the Agnes Hollow where his father owned and operated
a sawmill. Eight years later they moved
to Lowville, Canada. Dr. Readhead was a blacksmith for six years at Milton, Canada
and moved to Corning in 1892.
When he came
to Lenox in 1894, there were three livery stables but no garages. Several chain and post hitching racks lined
the streets. He was the only
veterinarian within a radius of 16 miles from Lenox at the time. His record drive for one day in the ‘horse
and buggy’ was 82 miles. His first car, a Flanders,
made by Studebaker company was bought from Dr. Scroggs.
Dr. and Mrs. Readhead were married in September 1901 at Lenox,
where they resided until April 1939 when they moved to Detroit, Michigan.

Reed,
Frank Leslie –
Frank
Leslie Reed was born September 23, 1882 near Lenox Iowa. He was married to Martha A. Ethington, February 27, 1907.
In September 1907 he came to Texas on a
home-seeking excursion train and stopped at Friona. After a short stay here he returned to Iowa
and he and his wife came to make their home near Friona in January 1908. They settled at what was then known as Star
Ranch, now known as Lazbuddy, where he lived for
seventeen years, active in farming and stock raising.
He was a faithful and patriotic citizen,
always interested in the welfare and progress of his county and community. Frank served for several terms as County
Commissioner from Precinct No. 3.
In
1924 Frank sold his farming interest at the ranch and moved with his family to
a farm three and a half miles north of Friona, where he continued farming and
stock raising until May of 1940, when due to ill health, he sold his farm and
farming interests and bought a home in Friona.
Mr.
Reed devoted his life to riding a horse and working cattle, and as soon as
health permitted he began working for Clyde Seamands,
now deceased for three years. The
following summer he was in Oklahoma, caring for cattle for Bill Baxter. The past three years, Frank had worked for
Bert Chitwood of Friona, caring for cattle near Friona
during the winter and managing Mr. Chitwood’s ranch
near Springfield, Colorado, during the summer, where he died of heart failure
Nov. 23, 1947, at the age of 65 years and two months.
Mr.
Reed lived a full and happy life and was admired by his hundreds and friends a
true friend and good neighbor and his judgment and advise were frequently sought by those who knew him. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha A. Reed, and 10 children—three sons
and seven daughters, as follows: The
sons are Glenn Earl (Bud), George William and Frank Leslie Jr., all of
Friona. The daughters are Mrs. Mabel Pfingsten of Tueumearl, N. Mex.;
Mrs. Faye Virgil, Albuquerque; Mrs. Edna Andrawejewski,
Hereford, Texas; Mrs. Minnie Knight, Mrs. Grace Vassios and Mrs. Lena Stokes, all of Fiona, and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, one
sister, five half brothers and one half sister, and a
host of other relatives and friends.
His
brother, Bill Reed, and a niece and two nephews, all of Lenox, Iowa were
present at the funeral. All his children
were present with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. Edna Andrawejewski.

A telegram
received at this office Tuesday morning from Mrs. L. T. Reed, states that Mrs. Darrell
Reed passed away Monday at Phoenix, Arizona. Mrs. Reed has been serious ill for a long time, and her death was not
unexpected. Mrs. Reed went to Phoenix a
few weeks ago to be at the home of her son to assist in caring for the
family. The body is being sent here for
burial.

Stevenson, Oliver Lock –
Oliver Lock
Stevenson, son of Vincent and Amanda Stevenson was born Oct. 23, 1863, near
Richmond, Ind. and departed this life Feb. 11, 1948, at his home in North
Clearfield at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 18 days.
He grew to
manhood near Richmond, Indiana, and moved with his family to Taylor county,
Iowa, locating near Clearfield. On
September 28, 1887, he was married to Maggie E. Holbrook. They located on a farm north west of
Clearfield. To this union were born four
sons and three daughters.
After forty
years of farming, Mr. and Mrs. Stevenson moved to Clearfield. He united with the Christian Church in
Clearfield in February 1888, being one of its charter members, and was faithful
in attendance at church services as long as physical health permitted.
He will ever
be remembered by his sincere Christian character and his staunch adherence to the
Golden Rule.
There
survive to cherish his memory, one daughter, Maud Stevenson of Clearfield, and
one son, Wayne Albert Stevenson of Sibley, Iowa.
Preceding
him in death were his wife, three sons, Joseph Lee, William Lester and Clarence
Earl and two daughters, Lois Pearl and Mable Ruth. There are also to mourn his departure three
sisters, Mrs. Lydia Stillwell, Payethe, Idaho; Mrs.
Hattie Peavey, Clarkston, Washington, and Mrs. Sadie Wood, of Diagonal, Iowa;
and brothers, J. W. Stevenson of Clearfield and O. W. Steven of Carbondale,
Colorado; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, many other
relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral
services were held at the Christian church Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Interment in the Clearfield
cemetery.

Swearingen, James Lewis –
The sudden
death of James Lewis Swearington wound up a
thirty-two year term of service to Taylor County. Mr. Swearingen was employed as janitor at the
Court House in 1915 and served faithfully and cheerfully since that period without
a stoppage until noon, January 15, 1948. About 2 p.m. Friday he drove his car into the Bedford Battery company for
repair and died at the wheel of his automobile. Cause of death was attributed to a heart ailment.
During the
time of his service, Lew saw the personnel of the Court House change many
times. He will be missed by all who knew
him and especially by the present Court House personnel.
Funeral was
held at Bedford, Sunday afternoon, followed by burial at Rose Hill cemetery at
Shenandoah, Iowa.

Tindle,
George Andrew -
George
Andrew Tindle, son of Isabelle and Thomas J. Tindle was born November 18, 1886, northwest of Diagonal,
Iowa and passed away at the Greater Community hospital at Creston, Iowa, February 2, 1948,
at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 15 days.
In early
manhood he accepted Christ as his Savior. On December 24, 1912, he united in marriage with Nettie Routh. To this union
four children were born: Beulah and G.
A. at home, Mrs. Elvin Riley and Mrs. Marvin Wilson, both of Lenox.
George Tindle spent most of his life in Lincoln township and was always eager to serve in any capacity in that community. In November, 1947, he became ill of a heart
ailment from which he never fully recovered.
George Tindle was a man of sterling character—never shirking his
duty and ever seeking to lighten the burdens of others. It can rightly be said of him, “This is a man
that has done more than his share toward making this world a better place in
which to live.” He was a kind a loving
husband and father, a real neighbor, and a friend of his fellowman.
He leaves to
mourn his departure his beloved wife and children, one grandson, Richard Riley,
one sister, Carrie Routh, one brother James, and a
host of other relatives and friends. George Andrew Tindle will be greatly missed by
all who knew him, but God in His wisdom has called him home.
Services
were conducted at the Crew funeral home on February 4th at 2 o’clock. Rev. D.C. Callison,
pastor of the Clearfield Methodist church was in charge. Burial was in the Clearfield cemetery.

Walker, William Warfield –
The Lenox
community was saddened this week by the death of William W. Walker, resident
here for more than 34 years. “Billy” as he was known to everyone, was always
active in public life and for the past seven years had been a member of the
county board of supervisors, being appointed to that position and regularly
re-elected since that appointment. He
had been sick for the past two years, and his death came as a release from
long suffering, which he bore bravely with fortitude.
William
Warfield Walker, son of Edmond S. and Ethel Baird Walker, was born in Carroll county, Missouri, April 3, 1893, and passed away at his home
in Lenox, Iowa, on January 10, 1948, at the age of 54 years, 9 months and 7
days.
He grew to
manhood in Bogard, Missouri. At the age of 20 years he came to Lenox,
Iowa, as a telegrapher for the Burlington Railroad. February 2, 1915, he was united in marriage
with Delia Walter to which union three children were born.
He lived on
a farm near Lenox for 25 years, moving to Lenox in 1940. He served on the board of Taylor County
Supervisors for seven and a half years. He was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Tremont Masonic Lodge
No. 343 and was Past Patron of the O.E.S. Salome Chapter No. 264.
He is
survived by his widow and their three children, Mrs. J.E. Strough of Los Angeles, Mrs. H. Ray Cheese, and Henry Walker of Lenox, six
grandchildren, his mother, two sisters, Mrs. H.A. Miller and Miss Mary Walker
of St. Louis, Missouri, and three brothers, Victor and Baird of St. Louis and
Jake of Boise, Idaho, also many other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral
was held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13. The service was in charge of the Rev. C.W.
Richardson.

C. A. Wood
died suddenly Friday night at his home north of Prescott. Mr. Wood was born and raised around Prescott
and is survived by his wife, Hazel Kirk Wood; one daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Olson
of Maxwell, Ia.; and two sons, Gerald of East St. Louis, Ill., and Francis of
Prescott. Two brothers, Ralph of Creston
and Frank of Prescott, and four daughters, Mrs. Joe Brown of Lenox, Mrs. Glen
James, Mrs. Gene Bray and Mrs. Millard Anderson, all of Prescott, also survive
in addition to five grandchildren.

Woods, Cora Emiline Downing –
Cora Emiline Downing was born February 7, 1872, to parents, Noah
W. and Margaret E. Downing, and departed this life at the home of her son, Ben,
in Lenox, January 2, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 25 days. She died after suffering her second stroke in
a period of four months.
At the age
of 24 years she was united in marriage at Bedford, Iowa to David Woods. To this union were born nine children, of
whom seven are living: Mrs. Jessie
Booker, Athlestan; Mrs. Mary Howard, Grant City,
Missouri; Mrs. Aleitha Schuster, Maloy;
Benjamin, Lenox; Thomas and Fred, St. Joseph, Missouri and Floyd of
Athelstan. Also surviving are 23
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five sisters and one brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a
kind, loving wife and mother, who will be sadly missed by all. Pallbearers at the funeral were Joe Hayes,
Melvin Alder, Jason Neumeyer, Frank Sickles, Fred Fidley and Marion Jenkins.

Lula Carolyn Schaffer –
Lula Carolyn
Schaffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schaffer, was born near Prescott, Ia.,
on Nov. 23, 1893, and died at her home in Lenox, at the age of 55 years, 1
month and 26 days, on Sunday, January 18, 1948.
She united
with the Presbyterian church in Lenox at an early
age. Her entire life was spent near
Lenox. She was united in marriage with
Jack Wurster on Feb. 14, 1917, and to this union two
sons were born, Melvin and Albert, both of Lenox.
In 1939 she
submitted to an operation which left her an invalid. She bore her pain with a cheerful hope and
patience all these years, always think of others and looked forward to friendly
visits.
She leaves
to mourn her passing her devoted husband, her sons, Albert and Melvin, the
latter’s wife and daughter Sharon; two brothers, Charles and Elmer Schaffer of
Prescott, and two sisters, Mrs. Wilfred O’Riley of
Hopkins, Missouri, and Mrs. Rose Wurster of Lenox;
also a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral
services were held on Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Charles Colyn. Interment was
in Lenox cemetery.

Young,
Senia Jane Elder –
It was
an unexpected shock to the family and friends of Mrs. Senia Young, when is was learned she had passed away Monday evening, November 24, at
the home of her son, W.E. Young, at Sharpsburg.
Senia Jane Elder was born at Shelbyville, Illinois, July [can’t read] 1859 and passed
away November 24, 1947 a the age of 88 years, 4 months
and 9 days.
When
a young child she came by covered wagon with her parents to Eldorado Springs,
Missouri, where she great to womanhood. On October 25, 1880, she was married to T. T.
Young and they made their home at Eldorado Springs until 1919 when they moved
to the farm near Sharpsburg.
She
united with the Christian Church at Union Hall, Missouri and later transferred
her membership to Eldorado Springs. She
remained a faithful member of the church all her life.
Surviving
are one son and two daughters, W. E. Young of Sharpsburg, Mrs. Bertha Costin of Creston, and Mrs. Tura Williams of Lenox. Also 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren,, two sisters and one brother.
Her
husband, two sons and one daughter preceded her in death. Mrs. Young was a devoted wife and mother who was willing to make any sacrifice for the welfare of her
family. She was highly respected as a
neighbor and friend. Her industry and
sincerity linger in the memory of all who knew her. Her family and relatives are joined by an
innumerable host of neighbors and friends who share with them their hour of
sorrow.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday afternoon, November 26, from the Christian
church in Lenox, with the Rev. Earl Moneymaker in charge. Burial was in the Lenox cemetery.
