Monday
evening about six o'clock Wm. Hamilton, of Shreveport, La., died at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. [ames]
M. Hoxworth [Jennie].
Mr.
Hamilton came to this country from Scotland alone when only a boy of
sixteen and for several years remained in New York City. For fifteen years he has lived at Shreveport, where he was
a member of a prominent real estate firm, and traffic superintendent
of the Kansas City and Southern railroad. For some time he has been in poor health and spent some time
here in the early spring from which he felt greatly benefited. On returning home again he got worse and came back here again
but gradually failed until relieved by death Monday.
Deceased
was of a family of six sons and two daughters, all of whom survive him,
and were present at the funeral, except a brother, who lives in Burlington
Junction, Mo., who was unable to be present. M. Hamilton,

of Stromberg, Neb., and a sister, Mrs. Jessie Boyle, of Marseilles, Ill., and her son Herbert, all arrived Wednesday morning. The aged mother, Mrs. J. B. Hamilton, and the other children, Mrs. Hoxworth, Andrew,
Ernest and John Hamilton all live here.

W. B. Hamilton Dead
The
following from a Shreveport, La., paper, where Mr. Hamilton, who died here last week, has been in business for
many years, gives an idea of his sterling qualities, and the esteem
in which he was held by his business associates.
"A
telegram received in Shreveport Tuesday morning brought the sad intelligence
of the death of William Hamilton,
well known real estate dealer and colonization worker, at his former
home in Bedford, Iowa.
"Mr.
Hamilton was as resident of Shreveport for about fifteen years and has
a large circle of friends here and throughout northwest Louisiana, his
work taking him all over this section. He had been in poor health for several months and had been compelled
some time ago to give up his activities here and go to his old home,
where death finally relieved his sufferings Monday night.
"The
telegram announcing Mr. Hamilton's death came to his business partner,
L. E. Tigner of the firm of William Hamilton & Company. Deceased was fifty years of age, was unmarried, and had no
relatives in this section."

Orra
D. Wildman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wildman [Irene Cowell]
was born near Gay Center, Taylor County, Iowa, May 14, 1880, and died
at her home in Gay Township, May 22, 1906, after a long and severe illness.
Those
who knew her best speak of her as a thoughtful, kind, [word missing],
noble young woman.
During
a special meeting, held at Gay Center last winter, she professed conversion
and with others united with the M. E. church at that place. She was ever willing to do her utmost
for the church, home and community.
She
leaves a father, mother, four brothers, two sisters, other near relatives
and a large circle of friends to mourn her death. The sorrow is intensified by the visitor death coming at a
time when one would naturally expect one to be entering into the prime
of life. All that medical
skill can do was done for her, all that kind hearts can feel has been
felt and expressed, all that loving hands can do was done for her.
On
the death of Orra Wildman the church and community have lost a true, noble life. The home will never be the same for the voice has been silenced,
hand stilled and place left vacant, yet we are encouraged to believe
though she is dead, she yet speaketh and her deeds do follow her.
Her
death, while not entirely unexpected, was rather sudden, and has called
forth the most sincere sympathy for the bereaved.
The
funeral was held at the Methodist church, Platteville, yesterday afternoon
at 2:30, conducted by Rev. A. Knoll in the presence of a large, sympathetic
congregation. Interment
was made in the Platteville Cemetery. ---- Blockton News.
