Mrs.
Cliff Bothel Dies in Denver, Colo.
Mrs.
Cliff [ord] Bothel,
71, of Denver, Colo., died unexpectedly on Monday, January 27, following
a stroke. Last rites and
burial were at Denver on Friday, January 31.
She
is survived by her husband, two married daughters, [and] three grandchildren. Also by a sister, Mrs. Georgia Ford of Bedford.
The
Bothels were residents of the Bedford community before moving to Canada
many years ago. They moved
to Denver in 1936, which city has since been their home. Mrs. Bothel was Miss Rosa Kemery before her marriage and was a sister-in-law
of Mrs. George Jared. |

Mrs.
Dick Campbell Rites Here Saturday
Mrs.
Dick [Richard] Campbell, a long-time resident of Bedford and Taylor County, died in Chicago
early Wednesday morning. The
body is being returned to Bedford, arriving here Thursday night.
Funeral
services will be held at the Shum Funeral Home at two o'clock Saturday
afternoon. Rev. Colvin
Caughey of the Baptist Church will officiate. Burial in Memory Cemetery at New Market.
Mr.
Campbell died March 25, 1950.
She
is survived by two sons and four daughters. They are Archie Campbell of Arkansas, Albert Campbell of Bedford, Mrs. Glenn Leighton [Floris Hazel]
of Bedford, Mrs. Violet Henry of Clarinda, Mrs. A. F. Cirksena of Des Moines, Mrs. Alta Dubach [Alta Marie]

Mrs.
McCormick Dies After Long Illness
Mrs.
E. [dwin] C. [ummings] McCormick of Bedford died at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville [Missouri],
Friday, May first, where she had been a patient and under medical care
the past three months.
Funeral
services were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home Monday afternoon, May
4, with Rev. Colvin Caughey officiating. The body was placed in the mausoleum in Fairview cemetery.
Estella
Hoover,
daughter of Josiah and Annetta [Jones] Hoover, was born August 13, 1876 in Taylor County, Iowa, and passed away at
the age of 82 years, eight months, 18 days.
She
was married to [John Alvin] Al Denton in 1896 and they resided on a farm in the Forest Grove
community. Mr. Denton died
March 5, 1945.
She
was married to Edwin C. McCormick on November 21, 1947 and had lived in Bedford since that
time.
She
is survived by her husband and by a foster daughter, Miss Esther
Golding of El Monte, California. Also by four sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Jessie Ernest, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Goldie
King,
McCall, Idaho; Mrs. Ethel King, Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. Hazel Book, Denver, Colo.; Roy Hoover, Washington, Mo.; Clay Hoover, Bartlett, Kansas; Jay Hoover, Nampa, Idaho. |

Funeral
services for Mrs. Richard Campbell, who died in Chicago, September 16, were held at the Shum
Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, Sept. 20. Rev. Colvin Caughey of the Baptist Church officiated. Burial in Memory Cemetery at New Market.
Susanna
[Susie] May Adams,
daughter of Jonathan and Sarah Fuller Adams, was born near New Market, Iowa, July 22, 1873, and died
at the age of 85 years, one month, 25 days.
On
December 25, 1890 she was married to Richard Campbell. To them were born ten children, four of whom preceded their
parents in death.
Mrs.
Campbell was a member of the Church of Christ of Bedford. She lived all her life in Taylor County
until September of 1951 when she went to Chicago to make her home with
her daughter, Alta.
Surviving
are two sons, Archie L. Campbell of West Fork, Arkansas, Albert E. Campbell of Bedford; four daughters, Mrs.
Violet Henry, Mrs. Glen Leighton [Floris Hazel]
of Bedford; Mrs. A. F. Cirksena of Des Moines, Mrs. Adrian Dubach [Alta Marie] of Chicago.
Mr.
Campbell died in 1950. There
are 17 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.. |

Rites Today For Floyd Kemery, 65
Floyd
Kemery,
65, died Monday evening, December 7, in the hospital at Iowa City. He had been taken by ambulance from the
Municipal Hospital, Clarinda, to Iowa City Friday of last week, for
treatment of injuries received in a fall from his upstairs apartment
on Court Street, Bedford, early Tuesday morning, December 1.
Last
rites will be conducted at the Shum-Novinger Funeral Home, 709 Madison,
here Thursday afternoon [today] at 2 o'clock, by Rev. Colvin Caughey
of the Baptist Church. Burial
will be in the Forest Grove Cemetery.
Surviving
are his son Bill,
now in Seattle, Wash., and his daughter, Mrs. Lois Scott of Corning. Mrs. Georgia Ford is a surviving sister. |

services for Floyd Kemery, who died at University hospital in Iowa City, Monday,
December 7, were held at the Shum-Novinger Funeral Home on Madison,
Thursday, December 10. Rev.

and Anna I. [owa Allcott] Kemery, was born on a farm in Taylor County, Feb. 28, 1895. His death came from injuries received in a fall.
He
is survived by two children, a daughter, Mrs. Lois M. Scott of Corning, and a son, Billy. Also by a sister, Mrs. Georgia K. Ford of Bedford.
He
was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Osta Amrine, Miss [Mary Iowa] Ode Kemery, Mrs. Mattie Davidson and Mrs. Rosa K. Bothel.
Mr.
Kemery farmed in Taylor County until 1924 when he moved to Des Moines,
later to Rockford, Ill., Chicago and Detroit, Mich. He had lived in Bedford since September 1955. |
